Now that life is settling down after the wedding, I have time to cook and bake again! Tonight’s recipe to try was Coconut Thumbprint Cookies with Salted Caramel from the February 2012 issue of Martha Stewart Living. They are amazing! It combines a crispy, light cookie coated in toasted coconut, with a buttery, soft caramel filling sprinkled with sea salt. Wes says its probably his favorite cookie ever
So, Heather and I both realize that getting to the venue isn’t the easiest of endeavors… That’s why I thought I’d write this blog post giving you details of exactly how to get there.
I’ll assume that you are starting at Shaw Ave. and Highway 99… Go West until you are in the middle of vineyards and fields… If you find yourself on a busy 3 lane road, you are going the wrong way.
Luckily, there are a few warning signs telling you when Rolinda is coming up. The first one is a large Engelmann Cellars sign: Read the rest of this entry »
In celebration of being two months away from our wedding, I thought I would post about the lovely bridal shower I had on Saturday. My friends and family are so amazing, and I feel so blessed to have celebrated such a special time in my life with these lovely ladies!
So, as Wes mentioned in his earlier post, we went to Salinas last Sunday for his sister’s baby shower. The ladies who put on this shower did an awesome job! So many clever ideas for a book-themed baby shower:

The countdown is on… 90 days to go.
To celebrate, on Friday night, Heather and I hopped in the car and headed to the future place of our wedding; Engelmann Cellars. The night ensued with some great southern BBQ, a live cover band that did everything from AC/DC to Los Lobos, and a fantastic bottle of Engelmann’s Summer Quartet.
We danced the night away. It was truly memorable. A much welcomed break from the normal.
I just wanted to take a minute to say thanks to all of the people who helped to make my birthday special! It was one of my favorites so far
What made it so special?
First, Wes and I decided to go to Monterey for two days to celebrate – which meant I had something to look forward to all week! When Wes came to pick me up he gave me my birthday gift, which was a new digital camera! He even thought of a way to charge the camera while we were in the car so I could use it on the trip – so thoughtful.
We stopped at Wes’ sister’s house first to see her and her growing baby bump. Amy, you are such a cute pregnant lady! Here’s a picture to prove it
Oh, and thanks Amy and Matt for the great sign!
Hello all,
I hope today, Easter, finds you all well.
I just had it on my heart today to write a bit about the reason for today… What it means to Christians, Heather and I, and the world.
‘Hello World!’ – These words have haunted me many times… From the first programming language I learned, the second one… the third one… All of them, actually.
